If your file upload went into βin review,β and it shows with a yellow dot in your import data screen, that means that our system doesn't automatically support the file yet. If a file is in an unsupported format we will need to review and format the file in order to populate the data into your account. This process can take a number of days, depending on peak tax times and traffic.
We will format a set number of your unsupported CSV's for you per plan year
Any supported CSV will import automatically into your account. For unsupported CSV's our team of specialists will format a set number of CSV files manually, per plan year, and upload it to your account. Unlike with other services we take care of unsupported file formatting for you.
TokenTax tries to automate all popular or common exchange CSV's, however, it is not possible to automate them all. Often an exchange can modify their formats without notice. We will work to re-automate the file, in which time, you can either wait or format the file yourself.
Be sure to check that you collected the correct CSV
If you uploaded a CSV from a popular or common exchange like Coinbase, and it went into review, chances are that you may have exported the wrong type of CSV and the right one should sync automatically into your account.

Did you trade in any Margins (derivatives, perps, futures)?
If you imported a CSV which contains Margin transaction data, you will need to make sure your plan supports these type of transactions, as well as collect the CSV files needed in order for our specialists to handle these calculations. Certain Margin accounts will require additional calculations in order to properly sync this data into your account. Your CSV will remain in review until you have the correct plan in place to support your Margin calculations and formatting.

Format the CSV yourself
For urgent situations that require a quicker turnaround, or if you're outside of your allotted unsupported CSV processing limit for the plan year, you have the option to format the CSV yourself. You can find instructions and download our Manual CSV Template here: how to manually create a CSV. Once formatted correctly, reports will sync into your account automatically. If it does not sync automatically you may need to re-review and edit the file you created.
