How to Import your Bitfinex Data

Written by Oat

Bitfinex spot data is supported via either API or CSV import. However, if you have used this platform for margin/derivative type trades then you will need to use API along with your regular import - see below for details.

You can connect a Bitfinex API by following these steps:

  1. Open the Bitfinex API page by using the User Settings dropdown at the top right and clicking API.

  2. Click Create New Key.

  3. Keep the default permissions unchanged (all read permissions enabled).

  4. Enter a label for the API key.

  5. Click Generate API key.

  6. You will receive a verification email from Bitfinex - please confirm the new API key in this email.

  7. Copy your API key and API secret to the TokenTax Imports page.

If you would rather import your Bitfinex transactions via CSV, you can generate the necessary file by following these steps:

Trade History

  1. Hover over the silhouette icon at the top right and click Account.

  2. Click Reports in the left sidebar.

  3. Click Trades under the Trading section.

  4. Click the calendar icon in the top left corner and select the date range encompassing all of your trades (you must select YY-MM-DD for the date format).

  5. Click View, then Export.

  6. Download the CSV file once you receive it through email.

  7. Upload your CSV file to the TokenTax Imports page.

Deposits/Withdrawals

  1. Hover over the silhouette icon at the top right, click Account, and then on the left sidebar, click Reports.

  2. Find Deposits and Withdrawals under the Movements section.

  3. Click Deposits, then click the calendar icon in the top left corner.

  4. Select the date range encompassing all transactions (you must select YY-MM-DD for the date format).

  5. Repeat steps 3-4, but select Withdrawals.

  6. Download the CSV file once you receive it through email.

  7. Upload your CSV file(s) to the TokenTax Imports page.

Please Note: This platform offers Margin, Futures, and/or Derivatives transactions. These types of transactions require the purchase of a supporting plan or the Margin Add-On.

If you have margin trades, you will need to connect an API to supply all necessary data.
