Whether or not the platforms you’ve used are still in operation, it’s important to ensure that all of your historical data is imported or maintained in your TokenTax account so that cost basis can be accurately tracked.
If you currently have data imported from a defunct platform via an API connection: These existing API imports may now be showing a sync error - this means that new transaction data can no longer be brought into the software via the API connection, but it may still be contributing historical transactions from the date range shown on your Imports page. For this reason, it is important to leave existing connections in your account to ensure that all historical data is retained. We highly recommend that these API imports not be removed or deleted. Deleting an import will remove those potentially irretrievable transactions from your account. *This action cannot be undone.
If you need to add new/missing data from a defunct platform in order to complete your dataset, we advise importing these transactions via either CSV or our manual CSV template (if accurate transaction data is available). Please note - In order to avoid duplicate data, if you have a CSV containing your full transaction history from the platform, please manually edit it so that it only imports the transactions that are missing from the software.
If you need to import data from a defunct platform via a new API connection: New API connections from defunct platforms may not be possible. In this case, the best way to import this data will be via CSV. You can use either a CSV direct from the platform that supplies the correct transaction data (if available), or our manual CSV template (if you have accurate transaction data available).
If you have any questions about importing data from a defunct platform, please contact TokenTax support via chat or email ([email protected]).
